How Pawspect collects, uses, and protects your information and your pet's data.

Pawspect (“we,” “us,” or “our”) builds an AI triage aid that helps pet owners gauge how urgently to act on a symptom, food, or plant.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Pawspect mobile app and related services.

02Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to provide guidance and remember your pet's history:

  • Account information — such as your email address and basic profile details.
  • Pet profiles — names, species, age, and other details you choose to add.
  • Photos you submit — images of symptoms, food, or plants captured for a scan.
  • Usage data — scans performed, features used, and general activity.
  • Device information — device type, operating system, and app version.

03Your Pet's Health Data

Each pet has its own private record. Scan history and per-pet notes are stored to power your guidance, surface relevant history, and make future results more personal.

This information is used only to operate the service for you — it is not used to build advertising profiles.

04Photos & Storage

Photos you submit are processed to return urgency guidance and are stored as part of your pet's history so you can revisit past scans.

You can remove individual scans, and deleting your account removes associated photos as described in Data Retention & Deletion.

05How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide scans and return urgency guidance.
  • Maintain your pet's history and care reminders.
  • Send notifications you ask for, such as follow-up reminders.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the service.

06AI Processing

Photos and text you submit are processed by AI to return an urgency score and guidance. This processing may involve trusted infrastructure providers acting on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.

AI is triage, not diagnosis

Guidance is generated to help you judge urgency. It does not diagnose and never replaces a licensed veterinarian. See the AI Disclaimer for details.

07Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of service providers to operate Pawspect. Exact vendors are being finalized; categories include:

  • App infrastructure — hosting and core application services.
  • Database & storage — storing your account, pet profiles, and scan history.
  • AI processing — returning urgency guidance from submitted photos and text.
  • Subscription billing — handled by the App Store and Google Play.

08Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only as needed to operate the service — for example, with the infrastructure providers above — or where required by law.

09Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual scans, or delete your account and associated data, from within the app.

Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

10Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Access & correction — review and update your information in the app.
  • Deletion — delete your account and associated data.
  • Regional rights — such as those under GDPR and CCPA, where applicable.

11Children's Privacy

Pawspect is not directed at children under the applicable age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us.

12Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and respond to issues promptly.

13International Users

Pawspect is offered to users in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, with safeguards appropriate to the transfer.

14Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
